RM40.00 for
nasi lemak?!

Yes, really. We went through delivery menus in every Malaysian state and found plates from RM5.30 sampai RM40.00. Some were questionable. Some were memang shocking. All of them are below.

Why are we doing this?

Because we believe discovery shouldn't be expensive.

Great restaurants deserve to be discovered. And great creators shouldn't have to spend hundreds of ringgit every month just to create content. So we're building Share Eat! to connect restaurants with food creators, making it easier for restaurants to get discovered and easier for creators to create.

This index is our little experiment to understand Malaysia's food scene along the way.

Share Eat! connects Malaysian restaurants with food creators. Restaurants get discovered without an ad budget, creators stop paying for every meal they film. Counting prices is just how we started understanding the problem.

The Food Value Index

Which state is most berbaloi? Don't gaduh ah.

Combined ranking across the two food dishes (nasi lemak + ayam gepuk). Cheaper plates, higher score.

v1 is price-based (median nasi lemak + median ayam gepuk). Ratings and delivery fees join the formula in Vol. 2.

The Receipts

Explore the raw data

Every price here comes straight from a public delivery menu, collected by hand on 11 to 13 August 2026. Ten restaurants per dish per state, each one dated and published with its source. Search it, filter it, fact-check us.

The "most expensive state" title changed hands four times as the sample grew. Small samples are confident liars, which is exactly why we kept counting to ten.

The Share Eat! manifesto

Discovery Shouldn't Be Expensive.

Malaysia has thousands of great restaurants. But being great doesn't guarantee being discovered.

At the same time, food creators are expected to constantly create, often spending their own money just to find the next restaurant, shoot the next video and keep their audience fed with something new.

We think there's a better way. Restaurants have something worth sharing. Creators have people worth sharing it with. Share Eat! brings them together.

And because we're obsessed with Malaysian food, we're starting by understanding it. That's why we built the Harga Index.

Because great food deserves to be discovered.
And discovery shouldn't be expensive.
